Through it all, my approach has been solution focused, strength-based, goal oriented therapy. Solution Focus Therapy is my primary modality. However, as I gained further experience with clients, I began to explore Narrative Therapy. I discovered there are some people who were looking to grieve their pasts, not relive it - people were ready to write their new narrative, stay in the present and move forward. Focusing on staying in the present and focusing on a positive hopeful future is my primary goal for my clients - whatever that looks like to them.
